The life of a traveling salesman would seem like an exciting career. While this is true in part, the rest of the story is less exciting. I spend hours upon hours traveling the interstates of my territory to work with my distributors and visit with customers. Eating the food from roadside restaurants that I know are not good for me, but there is not much else that is anywhere close to convenient. You know you spend a lot of time on the road when you start to pick out your favorite hotel in each city that you visit on a regular basis. Like tonight, I am at the Hampton Inn in Tulsa, OK. I have stayed here before and like it just fine. It is relatively new, the rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. What else can you ask for? I am only going to be here for one night so it really doesn't matter about the extras amenities. I do like to have a nice exercise area to burn off the extra calories from the less than health food that I eat while on the road.
I know when I have been traveling too much when I wake up in the morning I forget what city I am in at the time. I once woke up and wondered what city I was in and forgot that I was at home in my own bed.
I guess I will blog about the hotels that I stay at and the area in which I travel. As I get the hang of this blogging thing I will start to blog more about gas detection, both in industry and emergency services.
That is all for now.
